Three Men Arrested After the Cowardly Attack on a Taxi Driver

Three men from Widnes have been arrested after a dad was left unconscious from a coward attack. The dad, a taxi driver from Widnes, was on his daily routine to earn a living for his kids and family when a group of people began banging on the boot of the taxi between after 01 am on Saturday, June 15.

Two men, who were with a woman, then launched their sickening assault, beating the 59-year-old cabbie until he was left lying unconscious in the street. After waking up, the driver called for help and was taken to a nearby hospital.

The Widnes Policing Unit Detective Inspector Ian Whiley said: “This was a sad, sickening and cowardly attack on an old man who was trying to earn a living for his family.”

“The driver has got some serious facial injuries, and his family is devasted after hearing about the assault – his children are distraught and unable to understand that why anyone would attack their gentle dad when he hasn’t done anything wrong.”

Ian Whiley further added: “I would like to reassure the community that this appears to have been an isolated incident, we have stepped up patrols in the area, and we are determined to establish who assaulted the victim and bring them to justice.”

If you have information about this incident, you can contact Cheshire Constabulary on 101 quoting IML 428532.
